Manish is the founding director and practice leader at apt architecture. He is passionate about contemporary architecture (especially in the suburban context) and puts great emphasis on solar access and natural ventilation on occupant health and well-being. He drives the studio to integrate good design with each project Brief and desired Development Outcomes. Manish is a registered Architect with additional Project Management qualifications and has extensive experience leading diverse project teams - over 20 years. He is customer focused and approachable. When not practicing architecture, you’ll find him watching a good movie or a good game of cricket…

Tse Ying has a passion for design, which is backed up by her strong 3D modelling skills. She is primarily responsible for design and can wear different hats when required. She completed her M.Arch from University of Western Australia and excelled at physical model making during her Uni years. As model making is about patience and precision – practising this art enabled her to place herself in the spaces designed and to imagine how they would best be used. She firmly believes that architecture is about improving the human habitat through well orientated layouts, suitable proportions and well-balanced materials. Tse Ying is an avid musician and was involved in orchestral performances during her school years and has been a music teacher for young children.

Daniel is primarily responsible for Architectural Documentation however does much more than that in the office when needed. He has a B.Arch and an Adv. Diploma of Building Design under his belt and is on the verge of completing his M.Arch degree from Melbourne University. He believes that being a documenter is about more than producing a drawing, it requires attention to detail and an understanding of the construction, to achieve a well resolved design. Balancing both imagination and technical skills is a challenging yet exciting relationship that continuously interests him. When he is not in the office, you will find him in the great outdoors on an adventure and making friends with the wider community around him. He is also both a gym and basketball fanatic.

Hasanain Haveliwala will be completing the final semester of his M.Arch degree from the University of Melbourne, in mid-2018. Hasanain has already completed a five year Architecture degree from University of Mumbai, India. He has worked in small to mid-sized firms in Mumbai before coming to Australia and has a keen interest in residential and public architecture. Hash is passionate about the relationship architecture has with the end user and that is primarily what drives his design. If not found at the University or at work, he’ll be pursuing some form of fitness training or just wandering the great outdoors. He has actively founded an Indian club in Melbourne University and working to build a stronger community around it.

Carolyn possesses a Diploma in Office Administration and over 11 years’ experience working with mid-tier to small business enterprises. Carolyn became part of the apt architecture team in 2017 and has quickly become our go-to person for admin matters. What with working part time and raising two lovely children, Carolyn enjoys her quiet time with reading or watching movies and exploring local parks with her family.
