The challenge: The site presents as a rather narrow block with approx. 9.5m wide frontage, and is not on a corner. Client’s initial brief was to propose townhouses.
Our solution: With the use of right-of-way towards rear of site for vehicular access, together with Maribyrnong council’s adopted activity centre zone we are able to obtain approval for 7 apartment units within a 3-storey building. Throughout the design process we have taken into consideration of the 3-storey townhouse proposal adjacent to our site, and as a result our building complements it in terms of height, setbacks and form.
